Restaurant Review: Piccolo Morini

If you're looking for one of New York City's best new Italian restaurants, Piccolo Morini deserves a spot at the top of your list.

The restaurant focuses on handmade pasta, classic Italian flavors, and an inviting neighborhood atmosphere—and it absolutely delivers.

One of the biggest draws is the $9 martinis, available all night at the bar and lounge, and during 4–6 PM on the patio, making it one of the best happy hour deals in the neighborhood. Pair a perfectly chilled martini with fresh pasta, and you have the recipe for a fantastic evening.

We started with the Carciofi, beautifully seared artichokes topped with salsa verde and melted fontina, followed by the Panzanella Verde, a refreshing salad loaded with asparagus, zucchini, avocado, sugar snap peas, crispy focaccia, and a bright sherry vinaigrette. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to begin the meal.

The real stars, however, were the pastas. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked, while the Cappelletti, filled with black truffle ricotta and finished with butter and prosciutto, was unforgettable—easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had this year. The Spaghetti al Nerano, with zucchini, basil, and Provolone del Monaco, was light, creamy, and packed with incredible flavor. Every pasta tasted freshly made, cooked al dente, and showcased why Piccolo Morini has quickly become a destination for pasta lovers.

To finish, we shared the Tiramisu, which was everything you want from a classic Italian dessert—light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending without being overly rich.
